STEP 4

Go live

Once the operation test is complete, enable Checkout+ Cart Watcher on your live theme (the published theme). Checkout+ is live the moment it appears on the cart page of your live theme.

The Recustomer-side settings (Checkout+ policy, send back method, notification emails) do not depend on the theme, so the settings used during testing apply to production as is. The only work needed to go live is on the Shopify theme side.

#StepDescription
4-1Install Checkout+ on the live themeApply the same settings as the test theme to the live theme
4-2Check after going liveConfirm the display and the fee being added on the live cart page
4-3Informing shoppers (Optional)Examples of how to explain Checkout+ in your store

4-1. Install Checkout+ on the live theme

If you tested on a duplicated theme or in preview, follow the same steps as 2-3. Adding Checkout+ to the cart page to enable Checkout+ Cart Watcher on the live theme and apply the same text settings, modal images, custom CSS, and so on (app embed settings are stored per theme).

If you are on Shopify Plus and also display Checkout+ on the checkout page, follow 2-4. Adding Checkout+ to the checkout page. The checkout page block is not tied to a theme, so if you configured it during testing, no further setup is needed on the live theme.

4-2. Check after going live

  1. On the live store, add a product to the cart and confirm that the Checkout+ card appears
  2. Turn the checkbox on and confirm that the Checkout+ fee is added to the total

4-3. Informing shoppers

So that shoppers understand Checkout+ before purchasing, we recommend the following.

WhereContent
Dedicated page / landing page (Optional)A page summarizing the Checkout+ benefits (free return shipping and coupon), fee, excluded products, and how it works. You can also link to it from the card's modal
Shopping guide / FAQ (Recommended)Add "How to return an order with Checkout+ (whether refunds are available, free return shipping)", "When the coupon arrives", and "Excluded products". If your store normally does not accept refunds for customer-initiated returns, clearly state that Checkout+ purchasers can receive refunds
Legal disclosures such as the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (Optional)Add a line under fees other than the product price, such as "Checkout+ fee: the amount shown at checkout (optional)". Since it is an optional product this is not mandatory, but stating it helps prevent inquiries
